Edward O. Roth, 94, of 1460 Swede Rd., Ashville, died Thursday (June 20, 2013) in Corry Memorial Hospital. He was born July 30, 1918 in Sheffield, Pa., the son of John and Marie Moore Roth. A member of the Blockville United Methodist Church, he had been a self-employed famer and landscaper. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and playing horseshoes. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Swanson Roth, whom he married Sept. 14, 1940; three sons: Frank (Marilyn) Roth, John (Marlene) Roth, and Donald Roth, all of the Swede Road, Ashville; a grandson: Kristofer Roth of Panama; and two sisters: Kathryn Roth of Ashville and Freda Hedlund of Kane, Pa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Fred, and Kenneth Roth; and by three sisters: Ida Brown, Dorothy Adams, and Margaret R. Payne.
