Hazel Stevens

August 16, 1923 - March 6, 2003

Hazel I. Stevens, 79, formerly of 139 Lakecrest Ave., Lakewood, died at 11:20 A.M. Monday (March 3, 2003) in the Rouse Warren County Home. She was born August 16, 1923 in the Town of Coldspring, a daughter of Walter and Lilly O'Neill Penfield. Before retiring in 1988 she had been employed in the housekeeping department of the former Fenton park Nursing Home and earlier had worked at the former Jamestown General Hospital, Rowley Nursing Home, and Shearman Bros. Furniture Co. She was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, walking, and loved people and animals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors: Daughter - Gloria J. Britton Grandchildren - Victoria L. Kanouff and Robert B. Britton 3 great grandchildren Sister - Elizabeth Bissell She was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Stevens, whom she married Feb 26, 1944, and who died Jan. 19, 2001; 2 brothers: Howard and Leonard Penfield; 3 sisters: Dorothy Penfield, Mary Hayes, Patricia Loop. Rev.
