Inas Faulkner

Inas M. Faulkner, 87, of 449 Blockville-Watts Flats Rd., Panama, died at 1:05 P.M. Friday (Feb. 5, 2010) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1922 in Corry, Pa., the daughter of William D. and Josephine Marie Goss Harrington. A 1940 graduate of Jamestown High School, she had been employed as a cashier and in the meat department of the former Acme Markets prior to retiring. She had also served as a Democratic election inspector for many years. Mrs. Faulkner was a member of the Meat Cutters? Union, was a former member and past president of the Panama Central Schools PTA, and had attended the Watts Flats United Methodist Church. She was an avid bird watcher, and enjoyed crossword and other word puzzles. She was very interested in politics, enjoyed having political debates, and watching political programs on television Surviving are a son, Duane H. (Marcia) Faulkner of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Roe-Anne M. Faulkner of Panama; two grandchildren: Susan (Shawn) Evans of Greer, S.C., and Michael Faulkner of Baltimore, Md.; two great grandchildren: Sophia and Alexandra Evans of Greer, S.C.; a brother, Robert (Betty) Harrington of Smyrna, Del.; and a sister, Lois (Chester) Sokolowski of Sterling Heights, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Wanda (Sokolowski) Harrington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Faulkner, whom she married Jan. 29, 1942 in Niagara Falls, and who died March 22, 1990; and by a brother, William D. Harrington, Jr. The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Haglund, Heritage Green chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Niobe. The family will receive friends from 5:00 ? 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home.
