Philip Armstrong Shevory, deceased, October 15, 2021. A life-long resident of Jamestown, Phil loved books, all forms of music, the family cats, his Fulton Street neighborhood, and the Buffalo Bills. He was committed Democrat and the model of an informed citizen. He worked with Chautauqua County’s most vulnerable and underserved residents, for many years, as a home health aide. He graduated from Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Community College and Keuka College, where he explored his keen interest in Sociology. Phil was the son of Thomas F. Shevory and Joan P. Shevory. He is survived by his life partner, Carla Olinger, and his two brothers Mark and Tom Shevory. Phil drew people in with his open-hearted good humor and his boundless curiosity. He will be remembered for his positive attitude and his dedication to his family, his friends, and his community. Any gifts in his remembrance should be sent, in his name, to the James Prendergast Public Library, 509 Cherry St, Jamestown, NY 14701. Please earmark for the Summer Reading Program.
