Sandra Swanson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra K. Swanson, 56, of 115 Jeffrey Lane, Oakland, Md., formerly of Jamestown, died Wednesday (Aug 18, 2010) in her home. She was born Sept. 5, 1953 in Jamestown, the daughter of Robert F. and Shirley Feldhaus Raines. Sandra was a graduate of Jamestown High School and the State University of New York at Fredonia, and earned her master of business administration degree at St. Bonaventure University. She had been employed as an information technology manager at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Maryland, and had earlier worked in information technology at WCA Hospital in Jamestown. A very clever person with a great sense of humor, she loved animals and traveling, and enjoyed reading. She is survived by a sister, Sharon R. Dailey (Gary Swartzenberg) of Burt, N.Y.; a brother, Robert Goodwin(Marilyn) of Madison, Conn.; an aunt, Rose Raines of Bemus Point; two nephews: Jeffrey and Gregory Goodwin of Connecticut, and four cousins: Jeff Raines, Lynn Weaver, and Lori Pullan, all of Jamestown, and Brian Raines of Bemus Point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, A. Irene Raines; and by an uncle, Donald Raines. The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Costner, pastor of Camp Street United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
