GLENDALE, Ariz ? Viola I. Meek DeMeyere, 88, formerly of Sherman and Ashville, died Oct. 16, 2005 in Glendale. She was born Oct. 21, 1916 in Salamanca, the daughter of John and Mary Stoltz Meek. She was a former member of Our Lady of the Snows Roman Catholic Church in Panama, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by two sons: Gary (Rose) DeMeyere of Jamestown, and Jim (Dianne) DeMeyere of Glendale, Ariz.; three daughters: Ann (Dick) Damon of Niobe, Sally (Jim) Brochetti of Haverhill, Mass., and Dianne (Tom) Harrington of Monroe, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Remington of Westfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert ?Dutch? DeMeyere, whom she married Sept. 3, 1938 in Bradford, Pa., and who died in February, 1995; two infant sons; two sisters: Margaret Remington and Eva O?Brien; and three brothers: Henry, Robert, and Joseph Meek. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in Our Lady of the Snows Roman Catholic Church in Panama. Visitation will not be observed.
